18/11/2024 : William Smith, one of the men whose name is on the War Monument of Cottenham, was buried in St Sever extension Commonwealth military cemetery, in Rouen. He died 18/11/1916. Living close to this cemetery, the lord of the manor has decided to perform every year an act of remembrance of the private Smith in front of his grave.
This 18 November 2024 the act of remembrance has taken place.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
